I grew up by the sea in beautiful North Devon and have always been inspired by nature. I did a degree in French and Spanish but then found myself drawn to publishing when I moved to London in my 20s. I worked as a children’s book editor and designer for Kingfisher Books, Frances Lincoln and Heinemann in London before having a family. I continued my art practice in life drawing and still life classes and in Hanley Art Club in North London. I have shown my work at the Espacio Gallery in Brick Lane (as part of the City Lit Fine Art group show) and Burgh House in Hampstead as part of the group of fine artists I met at the City Lit. I have also shown my work in Crouch End Town Hall as part of Hanley Art Club group show. I had my first solo exhibition in the lovely, local Queen’s Wood Café, Highgate, in April till June 2024.

I am based in North London and work in my studio from home. I enjoy drawing from life and using my sketchbooks to inspire and motivate me. I often like painting still lives of flowers and ceramics in a loose and colourful way. I also like drawing more abstract images which are playful and dreamlike.

I like to draw every day and took part in The 100 Day Project in 2021 with flowers as my theme. Colour was my theme in 2022 and I have been exploring limited palettes.

I write from my studio each month in my “Studio Notes.” Please subscribe if you would like to know more about what inspires me and my studio practice.

This is my trusty assistant!
